Rimer

On June 5, 2008 I visited Miriam Epstein at her home in Montreal West. I had heard that she had a Papineau connection through Dorothy Goldwater, I called her and she agreed to have me over that morning so that I could interview her. Her paternal grandfather was Shaya Rimer and he was a fine cabinet-maker, having built the almuds for the White Shul. Her grandmother was Mizza. Her grandparents who came to Papineau, and her father who grew up there. As a kid, she visited there every weekend. She talks about them on the tape. The tape is about 45 minutes long, and Miriam talks about several Papineau people. To hear it, go to home page and select "Stories".
